Major Achievements
The major achievements of the NIDA to the date are as follows:
- Raising voice of disability, and issues of IPwDs at national level
- Contributed to establish National Indigenous Disabled Women Association–Nepal (NIDWAN) and National Indigenous Disabled Youth Association–Nepal (NIDYA-Nepal).
- Provided support to IPwDs and their families (250) and Dalits who were affected from Earthquake 2015.
- Provided support to IPwDs (76) and their families who were affected from COVID-19.
- Built up relationship with national level agencies like Indigenous Commission, National Federation for Development of Indigenous National (NFDIN), Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN), National Federation of Disabled –Nepal (NFD-N) and IPOs and DPOs.
- Became a member of national level federation of DPOs (i.e. NFD-N), IPOs (i.e. NEFIN), and regional level IPOs (i.e. AIPP).
- Built up relationship with national and regional networks of DPOs and IPOs.
- Have close relationship with experts of diverse fields and got opportunities to utilize their expertise as and when needed.
- Recognition to the organization and its issues by national level stakeholders like the Indigenous Commission, NFDIN, ministry and local governments.
- Coordination, collaboration and partnership with government, for government programs at national, provincial level and metropolitan city (capital city).
- Continuation of advocacy of rights, issues and identity of IPwDs in programmatic support of national international development partners.
- Gradual expansion of programmatic coverage at provincial and local levels, and got coordination support from provincial and local levels/governments for implementing the programs.
